Frontend Progress Update (Late Mar 2022)
Summary of what we did this month
We are at the end of our project now, in the past weeks we have focused on more and more Cypress Testing following on from the previous progress update, and we have also went through several iterations in UI design
Presenting Our Progress
We have decided to remove the pill shape blocks on the home screen and made the overall design to have a more professional feel.
We have gathered the navigation buttons all to the top naviation bar, which also shows which page the user is on currenltly at the center of the bar. The navigation bar would persist at the top of the page on any page that the user visits. We separated the search bar from the top navigation bar as suggested by Dr Yun Fu, as the searching functionality is only required on the home page.
In addition, we redesigned the "pills" from the previous design and now a summary of desciption would show on the left of the block. We have also added the functionality for datasets and images to upload an image as the 'profile image' of that asset.
And last but not least we have removed the side bar and combined the buttons for changing password and for creating new users into our freshly designed dashboard. Our new dashboard combines the My Datasets, My Models and My Downloads pages into a single page managed by the tabs on top on it.
