Background and Context

Our client

Atos is a European corporation which provides IT Services worldwide, including hi-tech transactional services, unified communications, cloud, big data and cybersecurity services. It runs the AtoS IT Challenge, which this year focuses on blockchain technologies and how they can be used to disrupt conventional business models.

Context

Our team has looked at how we can use blockchains to bring trust to the job market. It is commonplace for job-seekers to exaggerate or fabricate their professional credentials. Employers expend a considerable amount of effort to verify the claims people make on their CVs.

Project Brief

We propose using the block chain to store a decentralised record of people’s professional credentials and employment history. Individuals can request references from organisations (companies, universities, NGOs, etc.). In turn, organisations can request reviews from individuals associated with them. Individuals can then use these records associated with their identity to create a verifiable CV.

Objectives

  • Authentication of people and organisations
  • Association of records with identities
  • Creation of verifiable CVs incorporating associated records
