Week 7-8

Introduction Weeks

Week 7

As we navigate through Week 7 of our MI34 project, our efforts are intensifying, and the pace is quickening. This week has been packed with significant developments and crucial milestones. One of the highlights of the week was our visit to Richard Cloudelsey School on November 13th. Our primary objective was to engage with the students and gather their feedback on the AXCS project. For this purpose, we prepared a set of questions tailored to understand their perspectives and preferences. These questions focused on their gaming habits, their familiarity with motion input devices, and their thoughts on using such technology in educational settings. The insights gained from these interactions are invaluable, allowing us to fine-tune our project to better suit the needs and expectations of younger users. A significant chunk of our efforts this week was dedicated to finalizing the design of the multitouch webpage. Our team worked diligently to incorporate the feedback and insights gained from our previous iterations. The final design is not only visually appealing but also intuitive and user-friendly, catering to a wide range of users with diverse needs. We're proud to announce that we're on track to deploy the multitouch webpage by our deadline of November 17th. This week, we also faced some communication challenges. After not receiving a response from Dean, we reached out to Anelia for assistance. This step proved to be fruitful, as Anelia provided us with the necessary guidance and support. Additionally, we had a productive discussion with Yun Fu about domain acquisition and setting up the website. These conversations are crucial as they ensure that our project remains on track and that technical aspects, such as web hosting and domain management, are handled efficiently. Following our talk with Dean and feedback from other teams, we have finalized the specifications for the AXCS project. This includes defining the technical requirements, user interface guidelines, and the overall functionality of the AXCS system. This finalization marks a significant milestone in our collaboration, paving the way for the next phase of development. As Week 7 comes to a close, we're energized by the progress we've made and the challenges we've overcome. The upcoming deployment of the multitouch webpage is a key deliverable, and we're eager to see it in action. Our project continues to be a testament to the power of teamwork, innovation, and user-centric design. Stay tuned for more updates as we continue to push the boundaries and bring our vision to life.

Week 8

As we venture into Week 8 of the MI34 project, our focus broadens and deepens, encompassing new challenges and areas of development. This week has been a blend of learning, planning, and refining, as we make strides in multiple aspects of our project. A significant new phase this week is the commencement of work on the AXCS project. While we are still crystallizing the exact nature and scope of this task, our team is gearing up for this venture. We're initiating the process by defining the project's objectives, understanding the technical requirements, and assigning roles and responsibilities. This early phase is crucial in laying a solid foundation for the successful execution of the AXCS project. Another exciting development this week is the beginning of work on the Electron Web Page Generator. Our first step is to familiarize ourselves with Electron technology – understanding its capabilities, limitations, and how it can be leveraged for our project. We're also setting up job roles and responsibilities within the team, ensuring that each member's skills are utilized effectively. The focus at this stage is on learning and planning, setting us up for a smooth development process down the line. Parallel to these new ventures, we're continuing our work on UI/UX design, using Figma. For now, our focus is solely on the design aspect, not the functionality. We believe that a well-thought-out and user-friendly interface is the backbone of any successful digital project. Hence, our efforts are concentrated on creating visually appealing and intuitive designs that can later be integrated with the necessary functionalities. Following the feedback from Dean, we are also dedicating time to refine our website. This involves tweaking the design, improving the navigation, and ensuring that the content aligns with the specified requirements. This process is crucial for maintaining the quality and relevance of our web presence. This week, we also had the opportunity to mention our collaboration with HP, a significant milestone that adds credibility and scope to our project. Additionally, we're conducting research on three specific websites. This research is aimed at understanding current trends, best practices, and potential areas of improvement that we can apply to our project. The insights gained from this analysis will be instrumental in enhancing our designs and strategies. As Week 8 concludes, we find ourselves in the midst of learning new technologies, planning upcoming tasks, and refining existing work based on feedback. Each task brings its own set of challenges and learning opportunities, and we're excited to see how these developments will shape the future of our project. Stay tuned for more updates as we continue on this journey of innovation and discovery.
