Future Development

Using our results from the empirical evaluations, as well as our analytic evaluation of the prototype through an heuristic evaluation sheet, we outlined some points to be covered in the future development of the Scribal Handwriting system. The main ones to be mentioned are:

• Create the first working system
• Implement machine learning to cross search between manuscripts
• Create a search profile by outlining features for TensorFlow™
• Deploy on a web platform to allow for access from different machines
• Improve navigation within the application by refining our UI design

Our plan to achieve the result

To achieve the points we outlined in the future development we plan to improve our skill-set in machine learning and TensorFlow™ to be confident in using the tools to build the system. In addition, make use of user testing regularly to maintain a user-centred development approach at every iteration. Finally, we will need to identify the most suitable web-service solution to deploy our application.
