Handwritten greeting cards are a straightforward way to add a personal touch to gifts; you may have received some for many different occasions: your birthday, Valentine’s, Christmas… However, recent studies have shown that the yearly carbon footprint of the greeting card industry in the UK is equivalent to the production of 10,000 cars.

We’ve designed a modern alternative to greeting cards in the form of a cross-platform Augmented Reality app. Users can customize their AR greetings as much as they desire to keep the personal touch that their physical counterparts had while also allowing for more freedom in the form it takes.

Thanks to PlugXR, the editing and viewing of the AR greetings are easier than ever for anyone unfamiliar with 3d modelling. We also made it possible for users to publish their templates on the app to showcase their creations while also allowing others to use them if they want to get a quality greeting immediately. Users can like templates to make them easier to find and save their favourite ones for quick access whenever they want to use them.
