Abstract

Problem Statement
As it stands presently, there exists a scarcity of assistive fitness tracking technology within the industry. The limited number of such devices available are exclusively accessible to elite and recreational athletes. Project-VeloCity endeavors to rectify this issue by providing an inclusive solution. Project-VeloCity is a follow-up to Performance AI, a project that aimed to aid impaired users in their fitness regime by offering beneficial workout prompts. Nevertheless, Performance AI utilized outdated libraries, rendering it susceptible to malfunctioning, and its user interface was complex and challenging to use, making it unsuitable for impaired individuals.

Our solution
Project-Velocity aims to address this issue by providing an inclusive solution that can cater to the needs of all individuals, regardless of their fitness level or physical abilities. By building upon the lessons learned from the Performance AI project, Project-VeloCity seeks to provide a user-friendly and reliable assistive technology that can empower individuals to track their fitness progress and achieve their fitness goals.

Achievment & Impact
We have not only pioneered one of the first fully accessible fitness tracking apps specifically designed for visually impaired individuals but we have also revolutionized the standards for accessible fitness tracking technology. This ground-breaking achivement is well-positioned to significantly influence all subsequent innovations in this doman. By laying the foundation for a brighter and more inclusive future, our app serves as a reminder that developers must adopt a more inclusive, user-centric approach to app development. This transformative impact will expand throughout the industry, inpsiring others to prioritize accessibility and inclusivity in their own applications, ultimately fostering a more inclusive and equal digital landscape for everyone.

What we do

Making performance data universally accessible

With Project Velocity and Performance AI, we will make data available for everyone, demonstrate new innovations such as `virtual coach`, and help bring people together. While ensuring there is a robust data layer in support of delivering personalised insights drawing on performance data, telemetry, and analytics and making sure the presentation is easy to understand and access through tools such as Power BI.
