Project Goals
Our primary aim is to make sensory rooms affordable and accessible for children with disabilities by creating software that runs on standard laptops. Specifically, our goals were as follows:
- Develop interactive visuals that respond directly to music, creating an immersive experience
- Allow children to select their favourite songs and see them come to life with matching visual effects
- Enable therapists to easily adjust colours, themes, and visuals to match each child's emotional needs
- Design a simple interface that children and therapists can use without technical expertise
- Incorporate AI technologies to enhance personalisation and responsiveness
- Ensure the system works smoothly on everyday laptops without requiring expensive equipment
- Make the solution portable so it can be easily set up in different environments, classrooms, or homes
- Support optional integration with Phillips Hue lights for enhanced immersion, making additional hardware completely customisable based on budget
- Design the software to be scalable, allowing for future expansion with new features, visuals, and interaction modes
With Super Happy Space, we're transforming traditional sensory therapy from a costly, specialised installation into an affordable, portable solution that brings the benefits of music-enhanced sensory experiences to many more children who need it.
