YouTube Statement

Our application includes functionality that allows users to download audio from YouTube videos using yt-dlp. This feature is designed to support non-commercial, educational, and assistive use cases, particularly for organisations such as charities and schools supporting children with disabilities.

Downloading copyrighted YouTube content without permission from the rights holders may violate YouTube’s Terms of Service and applicable copyright laws. While our application is not intended for consumer use or profit-driven purposes, we recognise that some YouTube content is protected under copyright.

To ensure legal compliance and provide a fully legitimate alternative, our application also includes a system audio recording feature. This functionality allows users to capture audio that is legally played through their computer's speakers, a process often referred to as “through-the-air” recording. Unlike direct downloading, this method aligns with legal fair-use practices, as it does not involve circumventing YouTube’s protections.

User Responsibility

By using this application, users are responsible for ensuring that their use of downloaded or recorded content complies with all applicable laws, including copyright regulations. We strongly encourage users to seek appropriate permissions when necessary or rely on the built-in system audio recording feature to avoid potential legal concerns.

If you are unsure about your rights regarding a particular piece of content, we recommend referring to YouTube’s Terms of Service [1] and consulting relevant copyright guidelines in your region.
