Prototype
Following iOS Human Interface Guidelines [6] and Usable accessibility principles from Quesenbery [7]:
Aesthetic integrity
NeuroResponse app is focused on performing two tasks (set notifications and track symptoms). The main screen is split into two scrollable views, each one focused on one task.
Direct manipulation
In the symptoms views, users can specify the scale of their symptom directly with a slider. They also have a comment section to include personal scales, since it's a really common practice [4].
Consistency
Apart from aesthetic consistency, a uniform terminology is used across all views. For example, all the lists where symptoms appear have the same order. In this way, it's easier for users to intuitively use the app.
Feedback
Feedback keeps people informed about what has happened. When a patient saves a record, a pop-up will inform him that the record has successfully been saved.
