This Week

We were in a good position to start generating individual profiles for each game and start looking forward to other deliverables such as the MFC. Ideally, we wanted to design the gesture recorder into the MFC so that the functionality would all be included in one MFC. However, through multiple meeting with Professor Mohamedally, we found that we would unable to do so due to the policy of the Microsoft Store and what is allowed to be published on to it. Microsoft requires publishers to use it’s own specific infrastructure to make MFC’s for the Microsoft store, which means we would have to work fully in the C++ language.

The gesture recorder, however, was completely in python and therefore would not be allowed to be fully integrated into MFC. Therefore we were advised to change our design such that the MFC would only be there to adjust settings and launch the gesture recorder separately. As a result we also had to split the MFC into two MFC’s , the gesture/ pose recorder and the game loader/launcher.

Throughout the Week

Abid and WeiYi would design and build each MFC and test them to make sure that they would work together. Additionally, Abid had recorded a demo of 11 games to demonstrate that gestures could be used in a variety of games with a variety of gestures, which can be seen at the top of the page.
