Student Portal

For the student portal, we have implemented a dashboard that shows the students all the courses they have been registered for. This dashboard has been implemented by using React and typescript. The dashboard also has a feature where the students can view the grades given by the lecturer and also the insights of how the class or the cohort has performed overall. The student gets to login to the dashboard using the UCL SSO Login and thus the authentication system is safe.

For the student portal, we first made a systematic sketch of how the student portal is, then the sketch was iterated multiple times and presented to the client until the desired design was obtained. Then we built on the prisma schema for the student portal to identify the data sources, and decide what data needs to be migrated at any point of time. The graphQL api for the student portal was set up and appropriate queries such as “query AllStudentsInCourse($courseCode: String!) {“ AND “query GetAllCourseForStudent {“ . What these queries do is that it displays all the students in the course and the details of the course so it is displayed to the students. There is also a query to get the marks the lecturer has given to the student.

The student portal, the admin portal and the lecturer portal all have been designed and coded using react and typescript. All the colors and the designs have been maintained throughout all 3 portals.
